Zenophon A. Abraham, Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer
Zenophon Abraham is the designer and developer of the XFL Simworld
and the Oakland Baseball Simworld, and the creator of the simulator
concept around which SBS products are built. Both products are
the embodiment of his experience in system dynamics modeling, public
finance, urban economic development, sports event planning and
bid preparation, public relations, journalism, and economics and
politics.
A creative thinker with a diverse background and a track record of accomplishments,
Mr. Abraham created the Oakland-Alameda County Sports Commission, then served
as its president. In that role, he headed the bid effort to bring the 2005 Super
Bowl to Oakland. With Dr. Rascher, he founded Sports Business Simulations.
Mr. Abraham is a results oriented, proactive leader with a talent
for thinking out-of-the-box: always developing innovative solutions
to problems. He is a top-flight simulation model programmer, policy
analyst, city planning and economic development expert, and political
and media strategy specialist.
Mr. Abraham has served as economic advisor to the last two Mayors
of Oakland, as a consultant to several California Redevelopment
agencies, and as a popular newspaper columnist. He's active on the
Awards Committee of The California Alumni Association.
Daniel A. Rascher, PhD, Vice Chairman
and Chief Marketing Officer
Daniel Rascher teaches and publishes research on sports business
topics, and consults to the sports industry. He specializes in
economics and finance and more specifically in industrial organization,
antitrust, M&As, valuation, economic impact, feasibility research,
damage analysis, strategy, and labor issues in the sports industry.
While Dr. Rascher is founder of Sports Business Simulations, he's
also Founder and President of SportsEconomics, a consulting firm,
and a Principal at LECG, LLC. Dr. Rascher's clients have included
companies involved in the NFL, NBA, NHL, PGA, NCAA, AHL, Formula
One racing, CART, Premier League Football (soccer), various quasi-governmental
sports authorities, B2B enterprises, and IHRSA.
Dr. Rascher received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University
of California at Berkeley. He is Director of Academic Programs
for the Sport Management Program at the University of San Francisco
(USF), where he also teaches courses in sports finance, sports
economics, and sports business research methods.
Prior to joining USF, Dr. Rascher was an Assistant Professor at
the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has authored articles
for academic and professional journals and book chapters in the
sport management and economics fields, and has been interviewed
numerous times by the media on sports business topics.
Kristin J. Herrera, Executive Vice
President, Corporate Image
An experienced entrepreneur, Kristin Herrera, graphic designer,
web designer and founder of K.J. Herrera Designs, was instrumental
in the founding and growth of two successful companies, Big Boy
Studios and Michael Hove & Company. In addition to her many
years of marketing, logo and branding work, Kristin has several
years of experience establishing and managing business relations.
In her creative process, she draws on her experience as a successful
fine artist and student of art history.
Sandrine Olivencia, Senior Vice
President, Marketing and Product Development
With 14 years of professional experience, Ms. Olivencia has
a unique blend of marketing and software development experience.
An MIS consultant for the past 8 years, Olivencia has worked in
a wide variety of industries including telecommunications, transportation
and architecture, education, and software. With PMA Consultants
LLC, Olivencia first worked as a programmer/analyst: she designed,
developed and implemented several computer information systems.
Prior to her MIS career, Olivencia worked in product and service
marketing. With PMA Consultants, she researched construction bids
in various governmental and engineering publications as well as
on the World Wide Web, coordinated and assembled technical proposals,
and wrote, proofread and maintained all marketing materials such
as resumes, project write-ups, advertisements, press releases, and
newsletters. She designed and programmed a customer management database
and a marketing document management system.
With Nachi Robotics, Olivencia was responsible for marketing robotic
systems in continental America targeting mainly the automotive and
the metalworking industries.
Olivencia holds a BA in foreign languages and a master of international
business from the University of Aix-en-Provence, France, and an
MS in computer information systems from Eastern Michigan University.
She also studied at the University of Trieste, Italy and lived in
England for a year. Born and raised in France, she moved to the
US at the age of 24 to live her American dream. She is now bicultural
and bilingual (American/French) and also speaks Italian, Spanish
and German. She is still a huge soccer fan. She is the proud mom
of Emma, her one-year old daughter.
Jill Schulze, Senior Vice President of
Marketing and Investor Relations
Ms. Schulze is a high-tech executive with over 10 years experience
in sales and marketing in the technology and hospitality industries.
Ms. Schulze brings her enthusiasm, creativity, and problem solving
skills to the company, as well as her ability to articulate the
company’s value proposition in a compelling and understandable
way. A veteran of several startups, she also brings an international
knowledge of business and the education market to the company.
Prior to joining Sports Business Simulations, Ms. Schulze was Director
of Business Development at Open Globe, Inc., a multimedia development
company based in Berkeley, California. Previously she was a senior
executive at software developer Click Entertainment in San Francisco,
and a Technical Recruiter for RGA Associates of San Francisco. Ms.
Schulze also serves on the Board of Directors of the Computer Institute,
a non-profit foundation based in San Francisco.
Fluent in German, French, and English, Ms. Schulze was raised in
Heidelberg, Germany and has also lived and worked in London, Paris,
and San Francisco. Ms. Schulze attended Schiller International University
in Heidelberg, Germany and Sorbonne University, in Paris, France.
Karen Kelly, Senior Vice President of Sales and Business
Development
Ms. Kelly joined Sports Business Simulations in June of 2003 and
brings more than 15 years of experience in corporate sales, advertising
and strategic brand marketing to the company.
In her role as SVP of Business Development for Sports Business
Simulations, Ms. Kelly's responsibilities include developing new
business strategies, negotiating new
campaign opportunities and implement corporate sponsorship programs.
Karen Kelly graduated from Michigan State University with a BA
in Business
and Marketing. She has continued her training in Executive Education
at the
University of California Berkeley.
